My Bulldog friends are celebrating an SEC Championship win at the fabulous Mercedes Benz stadium. They have visions of championship trophies dancing in their heads in anticipation of the College Football Playoff semi-final in the Peach Bowl later this month. What a great time to have the football world focused on our city and our magnificent stadium. This week we will hear from one of the men who built Mercedes Benz Stadium, Pete Pemantell with Holder Construction.

Pete is a Vice President for Holder Construction, a national construction services firm with experience all over the country and offices in Atlanta, Charlotte, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix, San Jose and Washington D.C. With revenues of more than $5 billion, Holder is consistently ranked by ENR (Engineering News-Record) as one of the nation's leading contractors in construction management. A true builder, Pete brings more than 25 years of experience providing preconstruction and construction services. He has been instrumental in the success of many projects across various product types including aviation, corporate and commercial office buildings, public assembly and special use facilities, hospitality, and data centers. Some of his most notable projects include the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Devon Energy World Headquarters, Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead Hotel, Maynard H. Jackson, Jr. International Terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and the 2002 and 3003 Perimeter Summit Office Towers.
In his Operations role, Pete provides leadership support to preconstruction and construction teams and collaborates with project owners, developers, and design professionals to deliver world-class projects. Pete also leads Holder’s Scheduling and Quality Departments, leveraging his experience in project controls and his drive for customer satisfaction.
Pete received a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from East Carolina University and is LEED Accredited by the United States Green Building Council. He also served four years active duty in the United States Air Force. Pete and his wife Suzanne have three children and live in Woodstock, Georgia. Gems form Greenway

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina slammed New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Rotary responded with monetary and volunteer aid. Roswell Rotary received a Global Grant for the first water project our club undertook in Central America. Leading our club that year was Cheryl Greenway. This week Cheryl shares with us about the Rotary year 2005-06. Get there early and check out Cheryl’s scrapbook and the photos on the big screen before the meeting.

RUMC Job Networking Job FairRoswell Rotary Club will sponsor our last job fair of 2022 Monday, December 12. Roswell Rotary has been serving our community for over 70 years and is one of the largest service organizations in the southeast. They have sponsored our many job fairs over the years, and we are so grateful for their partnership and support. For over 32 years, Job Networking has been providing practical help and invaluable hope to members of our community who are experiencing employment challenges and transitions. Job Seekers meet in person for help with interviewing skills, resume writing, LinkedIn, troubleshooting your job search, and fantastic networking opportunities. We exist to teach job seekers how to begin and sustain a job search while providing essential emotional support and encouragement!
We are lining up employers for the job fair and will announce once they are confirmed. December 12 also includes an outstanding lineup of workshops starting at 3:00 p.m., dinner with speaker TBD at 5:30 p.m. and the job fair from 6:45 to 8:00 p.m. Seating for dinner starts at 5:30 p.m., dinner served at 5:45 p.m. and dinner speaker at 6:00 p.m. Are you interested in bringing your jobs to this job fair or do you know of an employer in need of employees? The final After Hours meeting of the year will held tonight, Tuesday, December 6th at 6:30 at the Artillery Room. The guest speaker will be Rotarian Pat Rains who will speak on entrepreneurship and lead a private tour of Gate City! This meeting is extra special because the club is collecting toys for Toys for Tots. Bring an unwrapped toy suitable for children 12 and under and you will receive a free beer! Do you have piles of grocery store bags clumped up in your pantry? Do you hate throwing your bags away after a big trip to Publix or Kroger? Good news! Now is the time to do something helpful (and green!) with your used grocery bags! After Hours is hosting a Grocery Bag Drive to benefit the Chattahoochee Nature Center Unity Garden. The Unity Garden is in need of these bags as they play a role in transportation and fostering plant growth. Please give your bags to any RRAH member.
