Roswell Rotary and First Responder Farm Day

“This was the most notable and incredible event that I have ever been to for first responders!" said Roswell Fire Chief Troche. Roswell Rotary’s Hero Project Family Farm Day for First Responders, was inspired by DG Steve Ivory’s challenge to honor local heroes.

After meeting with Police Chief Conroy and Fire Chief Troche, the club learned morale and family connection were critical needs following the line-of-duty death of a Roswell Police Officer. The first such death in Roswell's long history.

The club hosted more than 200 people including first responders (Fire, Police, EMT and Emergency Services), their families, and Rotarians at Golden Grass Farms for a day of appreciation and family connection.

From a district grant - children built and painted over 100 birdhouses red, white, and blue, each proudly bearing the Roswell Rotary emblem, a heartfelt symbol of community pride.  

75 Rotarians contributed over 332 volunteer hours, providing activities and nearly all food. 

The event was made possible from a  $3,500 District Grant and $2,324 in club support. 

At our club, Service Above Self is more than a motto -- it’s a way of life we’re proud to live and share.  The First Responder Farm Day restored morale, strengthened families, demonstrated strong stewardship, and elevated Rotary’s image. The 1st responders only feedback: "Please set the date for next year's Family Farm Day 2026!"
