Roswell Police Dept & Roswell Fire Dept Chiefs Report on the State of the Departments
What an honor to have these two leaders as our speakers. Roswell is better and safer with these two men leading our first responders and we are excited to hear their update and to witness their strong partnership as they serve and protect our community. Chief of Roswell Police, Jim Conroy began serving the City of Roswell on July 29, 2019. Before joining the Roswell Police Department, Chief Conroy grew up in DeKalb County, and served the DeKalb County Police Department retiring in 2019 with 30 years of service. He worked his way through all ranks and divisions to serve as the DeKalb County Chief of Police for the last 5 1/2 years. Under his leadership, DeKalb County experienced a significant reduction in overall crime. He led efforts to increase public trust and overall transparency by implementing body cameras and enhancing public access to crime data. Chief Conroy is happily married to his wife Ginger. They have two girls, Reagan and Reese. Chief of Roswell Fire Department, Joe Pennino, was sworn in by former Fire Chiefs Ricky Spencer and Ricky Burnette in June 2019. Pennino has been with the Largo Fire Rescue in Florida for over 18 years, where he has served in nearly every capacity, from firefighter to interim fire chief. He served since 2017 as Largo’s Deputy Fire Chief, where he oversaw five operational divisions, helped improve department response times, conducted an organizational analysis, and served as the city’s Incident Commander for hurricanes Irma and Eta. Add To Calendar How Will You Be a Better Rotarian? Your 2024 New Year's Resolution for Roswell Rotary Club
It's that time of year for New Year's Resolutions, so why not set goals for yourself for 2024 as a Roswell Rotarian?
Here is my personal list... 1. Attend more meetings in person. It's been a busy year since I still work fulltime, but nothing replaces seeing my fellow Roswell Rotarians in person. So my goal is to attend at least two meetings per month. 2. Hump Day- I rarely make it to hump Day but I miss the camaraderie and opportunity to meet perspective new members. So Hump Day attendance is on my list! 3. New member relationships- I am going to work harder this year out reach out to our new members and help them feel more a part of the club. I remember my early days as a new member and those who embraced me and asked me to volunteer for specific projects and drew me into intense engagement. That means you Nancy, Lisa, Debbie, Dave, Terry, Becky, Lynne...I want to model your actions this year in engaging our new members. It doesn't have to be a long list, but all of us can up our game in some area. Love having this clean slate of a new year and looking forward to making more of a difference for our community in 2024!
